箕田 논의에 대한 고찰 = A review of the discussion on Well Fields of Kija(箕子)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

평양에는 箕子墓, 崇仁殿, 箕子井, 그리고 箕田 등 箕子와 관련한 유적이 많이 있다. 각각의 장소는 저마다 가진 장소로서의 특성 외에도 새로운 장소성을 부여받기도 하였다. 대표적으로 기자묘와 숭인전은 세종 때 倪謙 등의 명나라 사신이 참배하고 詩賦를 짓는 곳으로 사용한 이후로 조선과 명나라 간의 책봉 관계를 드러내 보이는 장소로서 기능하였다.
箕田이 장소성을 부여받는 과정은 하나의 장소를 새롭게 인식하는 것이 그 시대의 중심 화두와 어떻게 밀접한 관련을 맺을 수 있는지를 보여준다. 구암 한백겸이 기전이라는 장소에 처음으로 특정한 장소성을 부여한 이후로 기전 논의가 여러 학자에 의해 다양하게 전개되었다. 기전의 구획 주체를 기자로 인식하는지에 대한 문제부터 기전이 『맹자』의 井田과 어떻게 연결되는지, 기전의 구획 형태가 현실의 井田制에 적용될 수 있는지의 문제까지 광범위한 담론이 생성되었다.
본고에서는 하나의 장소가 특정한 상징성을 지닌 장소로 인식되고 부각되는 과정, 그리고 그 장소성에 대한 여러 異論의 대립, 그 異論의 전개 과정에서 보이는 각 학자의 논지 전개 방식에 주목하여 箕田에 대한 논의를 고찰하고자 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In Pyongyang, there are many places related to Kija, such as Tomb of Kija, Temple of Kija, Well of Kija, and Well Fields of Kija. Each of these places not only served the function assigned as a location but also acquired its own placeness. For example, Tomb of Kija and Temple of Kija, notably used by Ming envoys during the Sejong period for worship and writing poem and rhapsody, functioned as places revealing the diplomatic relations between Chosŏn and Ming dynasty.
The process by which Well Fields of Kija gained its own placeness clearly illustrates how recognizing a location anew can be closely related to the central issues of that era. Since Han Baek-kyum(韓百謙) first attributed specific placeness to Well Fields of Kija, discussions about Well Fields of Kija have evolved diversely among various scholars. These discussions range from issues like whether the designer of Well Fields of Kija is Kija or not to how Well Fields of Kija is connected to the Well Fields in the Mencius (孟子), and even to the broader discourse on whether the form of Well Fields of Kija could be extended to the well-field system in real life.
This article examines the process in which a location is recognized and highlighted as having specific symbolism, the various opinions regarding that symbolism, and the argumentative approaches of scholars in the development of those opinions.
