Recently, the automated guided vehicles (AGVs) dispatching has received considerable attention in technical literature on flexible manufacturing system (FMS). The AGVs dispatching as well as the scheduling of operations is essential factor contributing to the efficiency of the overall FMS.
In this paper, we focused on the simultaneous scheduling and dispatching AGVs in a FMS. We proposed an effective evolutionary approach for solving AGVs dispatching problems, minimizing the makespan, the number of AGVs and the mean tardiness. For this multiobjective problem, priority-based encoding method and adaptive weight Genetic Algorithm (awGA) were addressed. And numerical results show the effectiveness of proposed approach.
