다문화 청소년의 이중문화 수용태도가 학업적응에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감과 교우관계의 순차적 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 다문화 청소년의 이중문화 수용태도와 학업적응의 관계에서 자아존중감과 교우관계의 순차적 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하는 목적에서 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 ‘다문화청소년패널조사’의 8차년도 조사(2018)에 참여한 다문화 청소년 1,197명의 데이터를 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 다문화 청소년의 이중문화 수용태도가 학업적응에 유의한 영향을 미치는 가운데, 이들 관계를 자아존중감과 교우관계가 순차적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타나 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구결과를 기초로 다문화 청소년의 학업적응을 돕고, 전반적인 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 방안을 모색하고 논의하였으며, 본 연구의 한계점 및 후속연구에 대한 제언을 하였다.

This study was conducted with the purpose of examining the sequential mediating effects of self-esteem and peer relationships in the relationship between bicultural acceptance attitude and academic adaptation of multicultural adolescents. For this purpose, data of 1,197 multicultural adolescents who participated in the 8th year survey (2018) of the ‘Multicultural Adolescent Panel Study’ conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute was used and analyzed. As a result of the study, it was found that the while the bicultural acceptance attitude of multicultural adolescents had a significant effect on academic adaptation, self-esteem and peer relationship were found to mediate these relationships sequentially, confirming a partial mediating effect. Based on the results of this study, ways to help multicultural adolescents adapt to their studies and improve their overall quality of life were sought and discussed, and limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were made.
