조선 영조 대 天文學兼敎授의 운용과 활동 양상 = The operation system of Astronomy Adjunct Professors (天文學兼敎授) and their activities during the reign of King Youngjo

The Astronomy Adjunct Professors(天文學兼敎授) in the Royal Astronomical Bureau(觀象監) was first established in the reign of King Jungjong. Astronomers in the scholar-gentry class who failed to pass the civil service exam(科擧) were selected as professors of astronomy by recommendation. In this article, I looked at the changes in the reign of King Youngjo. The biggest change was that the officers of the Royal Astronomical Bureau(觀象監) could become the Astronomy Adjunct Professors(天文學兼敎授). This was a change triggered by the suggestion from the officers of the Royal Astronomical Bureau(觀象監) in the late reign of King Sukjong. At first, only one of the three seats became a place for the officers, and later all three seats became places for them. The preferential(特典) that led to the Chamsanggwan(參上官) with only a certain number of working days was given to the officers. To become the Astronomy Adjunct Professors(天文學兼敎授) was a useful chance to get a promotion in the reign of King Youngjo.
