부모화 경험과 우울과의 관계: 자존감과 타인승인의 순차적 매개효과 = The relationship between parentification and depression : Sequential mediating effects of self-esteem and others’ approval

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was to investigate a sequential mediating effect of self-esteem and contingencies of self-worth in the relationship between parentification in childhood and depression. For the purpose of the study, a total of 315 college students completed a research packet including the Filial Responsibility Scale-Adult (FRS-A), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Inventory(RSE), Korean- Contingencies of Self-Worth Scale (K-CSWS), and Korean Version of Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D). Data were analyzed by using SPSS program and a Bootstrapping was used to test the significance of the mediating effects. The results indicated that parentification was positively correlated with depression and negatively correlated with self-esteem. On the other hand, only parentification-injustice amongst variables of others’ approval contingencies of self-worth showed a positive correlation. Second, parentification showed a direct effect on depression and an indirect effect on depression. Third, a sequential mediating effect of self-esteem and contingencies of self-worth in the relationship between parentification and depression. The implications and the limitations of the study were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 성장기 부모화 경험과 우울과의 관계에서 자존감과 타인승인의 순차적 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권과 비수도권 소재 재학 중인 대학생 315명을 대상으로 부모화 경험 척도(FRS-A), 자존감 척도(RSE), 자기가치감 수반성 척도(K-CSWS), 우울 척도(CES-D)로 구성된 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였다. 부모화 경험, 자존감, 타인승인, 우울과의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 상관분석을 실시하였다. 부모화 경험과 우울과의 관계에서 자존감과 타인승인의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 회귀분석을 실시하였고, 부모화 경험이 자존감과 타인승인을 순차적으로 경유하여 우울에 미치는 간접효과가 유의한지 검증하기 위하여 부스트랩(bootstrap) 기법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모화 경험은 우울과 정적 상관, 자존감과 부적 상관이 나타났고, 자존감은 타인승인과 부적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 부모화 경험은 우울에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤고, 부모화 경험이 자존감을 거쳐 우울에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 부모화 경험이 자존감과 타인승인을 경유하여 우울에 영향을 미치는 순차적 매개효과를 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다
