      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      Creative activity helps students develop their creative potential abilities. Particularly, creative activity applying for several expressive techniques of contemporary music can develop their various experience and original thought. Also, various technique of contemporary music enables them to have ideas about music and to take interest in learning music. Contemporary music is the matrix of the future music to approach, so it would also help them understand the future society.
      This study has worked out the lesson design of creation applying for comtemporary music techniques available in school lessons for the following educational functions.
      First, by relating appreciation with creation, the study has got students to take interest in creation. As students listen to a melody for appreciation and recognize its components, students can more easily approach creative activity using that.
      Second, by subdividing the step of creation into a few small steps, the study has got students to approach one sub-step after another. They are basic-training step, creation step I, and creation step teaching students musical conception and then making them create gradually.
      Third, through the features of modern music, the study helpes students grasp musical conception. The lesson design of creation applying contemporary music techniques has been divided into 4 kinds on this study.
      First, 'time changes' and 'shifting accent' have been applied to the design of creation activity.
      Second, piano techniques for detection of sound have been applied to the design of creation activity.
      Third, new human-voice techniques applied to the design of creation activity have made students experience a new sound.
      Fourth, students themselves have got to make percussion instruments, with which they feel the timber of a percussion instrument for their own creation activity.
      Contemporary music, as itself, is strongly experimental. That's why both student and teacher need to face it with a more innovative spirit out of fixed ideas and routine teaching methods in order to experience the potential variety of expression that contemporary music bears. For success of music lessons introducing modern music techniques, teachers should take much interest in contemporary music and try to positively introduce them into their lessons. Also, they should have students participate spontaneously for positive and original music lessons, and form a free atmosphere. Furthermore, they should take much more advantage of contemporary music through lessons of creation so that students may recognize the diversity of contemporary music.
