신자유주의적 SF와 포스트휴먼 시대의 노동 = Neoliberal Science Fiction and Labor in the Posthuman Era

국문 초록 (Abstract)

다수의 한국 SF 문학은 미래 사회를 알레고리적 장치로 활용하여 현실의 문제를 재현하는 경향이 특징이다. 이러한 특성이 제대로 드러나기 위해서는 로봇의 등장이라는 이 상황이 과연 필연적인 것인지, 그리고 이 선택은 누가, 왜 한 것인지를 먼저 질문해야 한다. 로봇으로 상징되는 과학기술이 누구의 필요와 이해에 관계되어 있는지를 먼저 살펴야 인간과 로봇이 어떤 형태의 관계 형성이 가능할지 제대로 상상할 수 있기 때문이다. SF가 그리는 노동의 미래를 살펴보면 가장 두드러지는 모습 중 하나는 신자유주의적 자본주의의 가치에 부합하지 않는 형태의 일은 로봇에게 전가하는데, 대표적인 것이 바로 돌봄이다. 부모나 자식을 돌보는 활동은 인간 고유의 속성을 필요로 하는 것임에도 불구하고, 시장에서 필요한 생산적 가치를 만들어내지 못한다는 이유로 인간이 아닌 로봇에게 맡겨진다. 그리고 그 역할을 해야 할 인간은 시장이 요구하는 생산성 있는 노동을 하는데, 이러한 아이러니한 상황의 배경에는 신자유주의적 자본주의가 있다. 이러한 윤리와 정치를 비롯한 모든 사회적 가치가 시장에 종속된 신자유주의적 자본주의의 폭력성은 구조적이고 내면화된 형태로 존재한다는 점에서 그 위험성이 더욱 크다고 할 수 있는데, 상당수의 SF가 자본과 시장의 논리가 극대화된 모습으로 미래 사회를 재현하는 이유는 또한 이러한 폭력성을 경고하기 위함이다. 다만 아직은 자본주의의 폭력성에 대해 강하게 문제제기를 하거나 보다 적극적인 부정과 전복을 시도하는 SF는 많지 않다는 점에서, 이러한 부분이 현실지향적 성격이 강한 한국 SF 문학에 주어진 과제이자 동시에 한국 SF문학의 개성을 더 발전시켜 나아갈 수 있는 방법이라 할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Many Korean science fictions are characterized by a tendency to reproduce real problems by using the future society as an allegory. In order for these characteristics to be properly revealed, it is necessary to first ask whether this situation of the emergence of robots is inevitable, and who made this choice and why. In order to discuss the relationship between humans and robots, it is necessary to first examine whose needs and interests science and technology are related to. Looking at the future of labor depicted by Korean science fiction, one of the most prominent features is passing on a form of work that does not meet the values of neoliberal capitalism to robots, and the representative one is care. Although the activities of caring for parents or children require human attributes, they are left to robots, not humans, because they do not create the productive value needed in the market. And the man who is supposed to play that role does the productive labor required by the market, and behind this ironic situation is neoliberal capitalism. The violence of neoliberal capitalism, in which all social values, including ethics and politics, are subordinated to the market, is more dangerous in that it exists in a structural and internalized form. The reason why many science fictions reproduce the future society with the maximization of capital and market is also to warn of this violence. However, there are not many science fictions that strongly raise questions about the violence of capitalism or attempt more active denial and subversion. Therefore, this can be said to be a task given to Korean science fiction, which has a strong reality-oriented character, and at the same time a way to further develop the personality of Korean science fiction.
