향수 유사도 평가 방식 개발 및 이를 통한 나만의 시그니처 향수 제안 = Implementing a signature perfume recommendation system based on perfume similarity evaluation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 사용자가 긍정적으로 평가하는 향수의 노트구성을 기반으로 향수들간의 노트 구성 유사도를 직접 측정해 사용자의 취향에 부합하면서도 특정 향수제품의 인기도에 영향을 받지 않아 결과적으로 제품 사용자가 많지 않은 ‘시그니처 향수’를 추천하는 시스템을 제안한다. 미국 최대 향수 온라인 커뮤니티의 자료를 분석하여 사용자들의 유사도 평가와 향수 간의 노트 유사도의 상관관계를 측정한 결과 유사도 네트워크 상에서 연결된 향수끼리의 노트구성 유사도가 더 높았다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시그니처 향수 추천시스템은 사용자 평가에 의한 유사 향수 네트워크에서 서로 연결되지 않은 유사 향수를 찾을 수 있게 해주었으며, 협업 필터링 등을 적용한 시스템에서 등장하는 초기 평가자 문제 (First-Rater Problem)나콜드 스타트 문제(Cold-Start Problem) 에서 상대적으로 안전하다는 장점이 있다.

In this paper, we propose a perfume recommendation system which computes note similarity scores based on user feedbacks and suggests rather uncommon perfumes that the user potentially like, while being unaffected by the general popularity of certain products, ultimately meeting the requirements of the “signature perfumes”. We analyzed the similarity votes by the users on the biggest online perfume community in the U.S. and discovered positive correlation between the vote-based similarity and the note-based similarity. The recommendation system devised in this work allows users to find similar perfumes that are not connected in the user vote-based network, and has a distinct advantage of being relatively safe from the first-rater problem or the coldstart problem a typical collaborative filtering system suffers.
