AAC 중재를 사용한 단일대상연구 메타분석: 로우테크AAC와 하이테크AAC 비교를 중심으로 = A Meta-Analysis of Single-Case Research Using AAC Interventions: Comparison between Low-Tech and High-Tech AAC

We conducted a meta-analysis to analyze research articles which (a) were published between 2005 and 2014 in South Korea, (b) employed a single-case study method, and (c) implemented a AAC intervention for students with disabilities. 39 experimental research were searched and selected from peer-reviewed journal articles listed on the Korea Citation Index. Then, we analyzed those articles in terms of both quality and intervention’s effect size factors. The results showed that the most primary participants’ disability was autism spectrum disorder and physical disability for the low-tech and high-tech AAC interventions, respectively. Most of the low-tech and high-tech AAC interventions were conducted in a special education school setting. For article’s quality factors, we used the quality indicators within a single case research (Horner et al., 2005). We also calculated the Percentage of Non-overlapping Data (PND) and Improvement Rate Difference (IRD) for each articles so that we identified an intervention effect size for each article. The results showed that the 39 articles achieved sufficient scores for their quality as a single case research in general. No considerable PND and IRD differences were identified.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 주요 목적은 로우 테크놀로지 AAC 또는 하이 테크놀로지 AAC중재 단일상연구를 (a) 일반인 특징과 동향, (b) 단일상연구의 질적지표의 차이, (c) 양효과 차이에 따라 분석하는 것이었다. 2001년에서 2015년 사이의 국내 특수교육련 학술지에 게재된 논문 39편의 단일상연구를 선정하여 고찰하였다. 분석논문의 AAC 중재의 특징과 동향을 분석한 결과, 로우 테크놀로지 AAC 재의 연구 대상자로는 자폐스펙트럼장애가 가장 많았고, 하이 테크놀로지 AAC 중재의 연구대상자로는 지체장애가 가장 많았다. 로우 테크놀로지 AAC 중재와 하이 테크놀로지 AAC 중재 연구의 부분이 특수학교에서 이루어졌다. 또한 테크놀로지의 수준과 상없이 의사소통 기능을 주요 종속변인으로 다루고 있었으며, 가장 많이 사용된 독립변인은 그림교환의사소통체계(PECS)로 나타났다. Horner 등(2005)이 제시한 질적 지표를 이용하여 논문을 분석한 결과 모든 질적지표를 만족하는 논문은 없었지만 대부분의 논문이 대체적으로 질적지표를 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 분석논문에서 사용된 AAC 중재도구의 효과를 PND와 IRD를 사용하여 양적 효과를 산출하였으며, 로우 테크놀로지 AAC와 하이 테크놀로지 AAC를 비 교․분석한 결과에서는 AAC의 테크놀로지 수에 따른 큰 차이 없이 높은 효과를 보여주고 있었다.
