This study aim to examine the Story and Discourse of Biography in Buddhist Monks which populizing in Koryo Dynasty.
First, this works is focus on ① Kyun yo chon ② Sam guk Yusa ③ Hae dong ko sung chon, thee are called the Biography of Buddhist Monks, and secondly, tombstone of Buddhist Monks which printed in cho sun kumsok chong ram.
When giving thought to the function of Biography, we generally speak that the style is very pural and courtesy, Upon this, the style is Known to aim at writing of history, judging of man's life, teaching of what happen.
But Buddhist Biography is rather narrative fiction than real document. This assertion is easily proved by following characteristics.
Discription of Biography of Buddhist Monk is consistented of Co-ordinate iveaux. For example, the opening discourse is matched it's conclusion.
Even such matching is for outing the world, life of hero, In whole structure of it's story that is rather perfect.
It is remarkable that we find out narrative fiction among Biography of Buddhist Monks Which is only recognized to be written history. This mean that such a literary is a factor in novel appearance in Jo Sun Dynasty.
