통일교육의 사회통합 역할 모색을 위한 민족정체성과 세계시민성 담론 = Durkheim의 도덕론을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

성공적인 통일시대를 맞이하기 위한 준비 작업으로 가장 요청되는 것은 남북한 주민의 통합 즉 사회통합에 대한 것이다. 민족정체성은 자기가 속한 사회 즉 집단에 대한 애착을 갖게 한다는 점에서 남북통일을 위한 기반이 된다. 그러나 민족정체성이 우리의 민족문화만을 앞세우는 근원주의자적 시각을 벗어나지 못한다면 한계를 지니게 될 수밖에 없다. 폐쇄적인 자민족 중심의 민족정체성은 어떤 형태로든 극복되어 새로운 형태의 정체성으로 발전되어야 한다. 포용적 민족정체성, 모두를 위한 민족정체성의 성격이 추구되어야 한다. 따라서 통일교육의 사회통합 역할을 위해 남북으로 단절되었던 민족의 정체성을 확인시키고 상호 간의 이질감을 극복하며 일체감을 조성해야 한다. 이것은 뒤르켐(Emile Durkheim)의 사회집단에 대한 애착을 통해 형성 및 고양 가능하다. 사회집단에 대한 애착은 민족정체성을 발현하고 견고하게 하는 동인으로 작용한다. 결국, 다문화 사회, 세계화, 통일시대에 추구할 정체성은 평화, 공존을 함께 추구할 수 있는 세계시민성을 배태한 민족정체성이라 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The most requested preparation for the successful reunification is the integration of South and North Koreans, that is, the social integration. The national identity is the foundation for reunification of South and North Korea in that it makes them attached to the society in which it belongs. However, if national identity cannot escape from the fundamentalist perspective to put only national culture ahead of other things, it has no choice but to have its limits. A closed ethnic national identity should be overcome in some form and developed into a new identity. The embracing national identity, national identity for all, must be pursued.
Therefore, it is necessary to confirm the identity of the separated North and South Korean people, to overcome the heterogeneity of each other and to create a sense of unity. This can be formed and elevated through the attachment to social group of Durkheim. The attachment to social groups acts as a driving force to promote and strengthen national identity. Ultimately, the national identity to pursue in the era of multiculturalism, globalization and unification can be regarded as a national democracy that can pursue peace and coexistence together.
