문제중심학습(PBL)을 활용한 대학 글쓰기 수업 설계 연구 = A Study on a University Writing Class Design that Utilizes Problem-based Learning(PBL)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 문제중심학습(PBL, Problem-based learning) 교수법을 활용한 대학 글쓰기 수업 설계안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 문제중심학습은 학습자에게 교과 내용과 관련된 비구조화된 문제를 제시하여 그룹 활동을 통해 문제 상황을 분석하고, 자료를 수집, 정리 및 활용하여 문제를 해결하도록 하는 것으로 학습자가 실제 상황에서 문제를 해결하는 능력을 갖추도록 하는 교육 방법이다.
대학 글쓰기 교육의 일반적 목표는 교양인으로서의 자기표현 능력과 의사소통 능력, 분석적, 창의적, 비판적, 합리적 사고와 종합적 판단을 비롯한 문제 해결 능력, 기초 지식 배양과 새로운 지식을 창출하는 능력, 지성인으로서 글로벌 역량을 갖추고 세계 시민의 자질을 기르도록 하는 데 있다. 그런데 실제 교육은 이론 중심과 개별 글쓰기 등에 머무르는 한계점이 있다. 이러한 한계점을 문제중심학습 방법을 통해 극복하여 글쓰기 교육의 목표를 달성할 수 있을 것이다.
이에 따라 이 연구에서는 교실 현장에서 활용 가능한 문제중심학습을 적용한 수업 설계안과 학습자에게 제시될 문제 예제 그리고 간략하지만 실행 방안을 제안하고 그 유용성에 대하여 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims at presenting a university writing class design that utilizes problem-based learning (PBL) teaching methods. Problem-based learning is an education method that presents unstructured problems, relevant to the content of the curriculum to learners in order for them to analyze problem situations through group activities so that these problems can be resolved with the collection, organization, and utilization of data. Through this method, learners can acquire the ability to solve problems in actual situations.
The general goal of university writing education is to foster in learners the self-expressive abilities of a cultured person, problem-solving abilities including communication skills, analytical, creative, critical, and rational thinking along with comprehensive judgment, the ability to cultivate basic and new knowledge, and global capabilities as an intellectual along with the qualities of a global citizen. However, the actual education process is limited to theory and individual writing. Such limitations can be overcome through PBL methods, thus making it possible for the goals of writing education to be achieved.
For these reasons, the present study presented a class design that allows classroom application of PBL, wherein sample problems can be presented to learners, along with a brief action plan as well as its usefulness.
