임상실습 중 간호대학생이 경험한 병원 내 폭력, 간호사의 무례함이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향 = Effects of Hospital Violence and Nurses Incivility on Career Identity in Nursing Students during Clinical Training

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is a descriptive research study to identify violence in hospitals, nurses’ rudeness, career identity, and the effects of violence in hospital and nurse’s rudeness on career identity experienced during nursing university students' clinical practice. The subjects of this study were 109 nursing college students who were attending the nursing department of the university located in G and K, and who had experience of clinical practice for more than one year. Data collection took place from May 4, 2018 to May 17, 2018. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s Correlation and Stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/ WIN 23.0. The results revealed that violence in hospitals experienced by nursing students was 2.38±1.02 for verbal violence and 1.36±0.73 for physical threats. Student nurses’ experience of incivility was 2.42± 0.75 on the average of 5 points, and career identity was 2.48±0.50 on the 4 points. Career identity was negatively correlated with nurses’ incivility(r=-.26 p=.007). The factors affecting career identity were major satisfaction(β=.58, p<.001), nurses’ incivility(β=-.20, p=.001), motivation for admission(β=.18, p=.017), age(β=.14, p=.044), and they explained 53% of the total variance of career identity of nursing students.
This study suggests that cooperation and systematic efforts between educational institutions and hospitals are needed to reduce the nurses’ incivility experience of nursing students during clinical practice, and it is necessary to provide educational programs for nursing students that can improve the coping strategies with civility.
