빈곤이 아동의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향：생태체계 변인의 매개효과를 중심으로 = The Effect of Poverty on Children's Life Quality：With a Focus on the Mediating Effects of Ecological Variables

To define children’s quality of life as an index of children’s deserved rights, this study explored direct influences of poverty on children’s life quality and identified whether or not the indirect mediating effects of ecological variables enable children to overcome negative influences which resulted from poverty. The purposes of this study were as follows. First, this study aimed to identify direct influences of poverty on children’s life quality. Second, this study attempted to identify the indirect influences of meditating effects on the quality of life of children.
This study proved that three mediating effects：personal, family and social variables, supported social welfare strategy to protect children. In addition, this study showed that intervention on children’s behalf should be made through intervention to the children’s environment. Recently, the importance of children’s interest in life quality has beenrecognized as one condition for developing them to become healthy members of the community. It is concluded that multidimensional efforts are required to improve children’s life quality.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 아동의 행복을 추구할 권리 보장의 지표로서 아동의 삶의 질을 확인하기 위하여, 빈곤이 아동의 삶의 질에 미치는 직접적인 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 또한 아동의 개인변인, 가족변인, 사회변인 등 생태체계 변인을 매개로 하였을 때 그 간접영향을 통해, 빈곤으로부터 비롯되는 부정적인 영향을 극복할 수 있는 요인으로 작용할 수 있는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원에서 중학교 2학년 학생들을 대상으로 조사한 청소년패널데이터(KYPS)에서 변수를 추출하여 기술통계, ANOVA 검증과 다중회귀분석, 구조방정식모형분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 가정의 빈곤은 아동의 삶의 질에 전반적으로 부정적인 영향을 미치며, 그 영향은 생태체계 변인들을 통해 매개되었을 때 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 생태체계 이론을 기반으로 하여 아동의 삶의 질에 생태체계 변인이 미치는 간접영향을 밝힘으로써, 아동의 행복추구 권리를 보장하기 위해서는 개인, 가족, 사회 등의 환경적 맥락에서 다각적인 접근이 필요함을 확인하였다.
