자택소유 및 자택유형에 따른 노인의 삶의 만족도 변화에 관한 종단연구- 잠재성장모형을 적용한 초기값 및 변화율의 영향을 중심으로 - = Longitudinal Study on Changes in Life Satisfaction of the Elderly using Latent Growth Model - Focused on Home-ownership and Housing Types -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of residential environment on life satisfaction of older adults over the life courses. For these analyses, this study combines all the KReIS data set which are the first wave through the sixth wave and analyzes the relationship between life satisfaction and home-ownership and housing types using latent growth model. Key findings are as follows: First, we found that the intercept and slope of housing types have a significant effect on slope of life satisfaction respectively. Second, the intercept and slope of home-ownership have a significant effect on the intercept and slope of life satisfaction respectively. It implies that the residence environment may make differences in life satisfaction in old age. Based on the empirical findings, this study suggests that housing welfare program and the community based social services need to enhance older adults life satisfaction.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 노인이 사는 주거환경이 삶의 만족도변화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 밝히고자 하는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 국민연금연구원에서 구축한 국민노후보장패널 1차(2005년)부터 6차(2015년)까지의 Panel데이터를 결합하여 자택소유여부 및 거주주택유형과 삶의 만족도 궤적 간 관계를 잠재성장모형을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석대상은 65세 이상 남녀노인으로서 2005년부터 2015년까지 중단하지 않고 모든 조사에 참여한 총 1,650명이었다. 분석결과, 첫째 주거환경변수 중 하나인 자택소유 초기 값은 노인의 삶의 만족도 초기 값에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 시간의 흐름에 따른 자택소유변화율이 노인의 삶의 만족도 종단변화율에도 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 노인들의 주택소유에 변화가 많을수록 노인들의 살의 만족도 수준이 더 크게 변화함을 의미한다. 둘째 단독주택과 공동주택으로 분류한 주택유형의 초기 값이 노인의 삶의 만족도 기울기(궤적)에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 시간의 흐름에 따른 주택유형의 변화율이 노인의 삶의 만족도 종단변화율에도 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 노인들이 공동주택에 거주하는 경우가 단독주택에 거주하는 경우보다 삶의 만족도가 시간이 흐르면서 더 높아지며, 거주하는 주택유형의 변화가 많을수록 노인의 삶의 만족도 변화도 크게 영향을 받는 것을 의미한다. 마지막으로 자택을 소유한 노인이 초기 삶의 만족도가 가장 높았으나 시간이 흐르면서 장기적으로는 공동주택에 거주하는 노인들이 삶의 만족도가 좀 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 노인들의 주거환경이 노인들의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미하며 노인의 삶의 만족도 향상을 위해서 장기적인 제도 마련이 필요함을 시사한다. 이에 따라 관련된 정책적 함의도 함께 제시하였다.
