본 연구는 서울에 소재한 K 대학교에서 학사경고를 받은 경험이 있는 대학생을 대상으로 학사경고의 원인은 무엇이며 학사경고 전과 후의 경험한 심리적 특성 그리고 대학생활 경험의 의미는 무엇인지를 탐색하고자 하였다. 본 연구에 참여한 연구 대상은 7명(남학생 6명, 여학생 1명)으로 연구자들은 편안한 장소에서 1:1 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 내용은 현상학적 연구 방법 중 Colaizzi 분석 방식을 따라서 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 대학생의 학사경고 경험의 의미에 관한 유의미한 진술은 71개 이었으며, 주제어는 18개로 나타났다. 대학생의 학사경고 경험을 질적으로 분석한 결과, 동기의 저하/무관심, 후회, 그만 놀자/졸업, 갈등, 미안함 5개의 기본 구조를 발견하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 대학에서 학사경고를 경험한 학생들의 현실적인 문제와 이들이 격고 있는 어려움을 살펴봄으로써 학사경고 대학생을 위한 실제적인 프로그램 개발 및 지원 정책 수립을 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate causes of academic probation, the psychological characteristics and university life experiences of college students before and after receiving academic probation at K university in Seoul. Seven interviewees(six males and one female) participated in this study. The research data was collected through a 1:1 in-depth interview at a comfortable place. This qualitative study applied the phenomenological analysis method of Colaizzi. University life experiences of college students who received academic probations were expressed by 71 meaningful sentences and clustered into 18 specific themes. 5 general structures were identified such as low motivation/disinterestedness, regret, stop playing/graduation, conflict, sorry. These results of the study are expected to be utilized for the development of practical programs and school policies for those who get academic warning.
