This paper was focused on the Particulate Matter (PM) emission characteristics through change of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) rate of light-duty diesel engine. The DMS500 (Differential Mobility Spectrometer) was used as a particle measurement apparatus that indicates particle number concentration of 5~1000 ㎚. The EGR rate was sampled on the downstream of turbocharger to exclude the effect of an exhaust gas after-treatment system (DOC & DPF). And the EGR rate was varied from low speed and torque to high speed and torque. As general experimental results, particle emissions increase due to the influence of EGR, however, particle size distribution is slightly different trends through engine operating conditions.
