회복탄력성이 역경 후 성장에 이르는 과정에서 정서인식명확성, 의도적 반추와 문제중심대처의 매개효과 = The Mediating Effects of Emotional Clarity, Deliberate Rumination, and Problem-focused Coping in the link between Resilience and Adversarial Growth

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Based on positive psychology, this study examines whether emotional clarity, deliberate rumination, and problem-focused coping mediate the link between resilience and adversarial growth of adults who have suffered adversity more than once. 441 workers working at 3 work sites in Seoul were participated. Basic statistics, correlations, and structural equation model were used, confirming the mediating effects with bootstrapping. Analyses indicated that (a) in terms of correlation among variables, resilience, emotional clarity, deliberate rumination, problem-focused coping, and adversarial growth were positively related except that the correlation of emotional clarity with deliberate rumination was nonsignificant. (b) resilience influenced emotional clarity, deliberate rumination, and problem-focused coping; emotional clarity and deliberate rumination respectively influenced problem-focused coping; and problem-focused coping influenced adversarial growth. Whereas deliberate rumination had a direct impact on adversarial growth in this process, emotional clarity did not. (c) emotional clarity and deliberate rumination respectively mediated the link between resilience and adversarial growth, both through problem-focused coping, A dual mediation, thus, was established. These results indicated that emotional, cognitive processes and problem-focused coping contribute sequentially in the relationship resilience and adversarial growth. A more integrated model of resilience was examined by investigating positive constructs relating adversarial growth. Based on the results, implications and suggestions for future research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 긍정심리학에 기초하여 삶에서 한 번 이상의 역경을 겪은 일반 성인들을 대상으로, 회복탄력성이 역경 후 성장에 이르는 과정에서 정서인식명확성, 의도적 반추와 문제중심대처가 매개역할을 하는지를 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 서울에 소재한 3개 직장에 근무하는 직장인 441명의 자료가 최종 분석에 사용되었다. 기초통계, 상관관계 및 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였으며, 부트스트랩핑을 통하여 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변인들 간의 상관관계에서 회복탄력성, 정서인식명확성, 의도적 반추, 문제중심대처 그리고 역경 후 성장이 정적으로 유의한 상관을 나타내었으나, 이 중 정서인식명확성과 의도적 반추는 서로 상관을 나타내지 않았다. 둘째, 회복탄력성은 정서인식명확성, 의도적 반추, 문제해결대처에 영향을 주었고, 정서인식명확성과 의도적 반추는 각각 문제해결대처에 영향을 주었으며, 문제해결대처는 역경 후 성장에 영향을 주었다. 이 과정에서 정서인식명확성은 역경 후 성장에 직접적 영향을 미치지 못하였으나, 의도적 반추는 역경 후 성장에 직접적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 회복탄력성은 정서인식명확성과 문제중심대처를 거쳐 역경 후 성장에 영향을 미쳤으며, 의도적 반추와 문제중심대처를 거쳐서도 역경 후 성장에 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 이들의 이중매개가 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 회복탄력성과 역경 후 성장의 관계에서 정서적, 인지적 과정과 문제중심대처가 순차적으로 역경 후 성장에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 긍정적 개념의 변인들 간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써, 보다 더 통합적인 모형이 검증되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 논의 및 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
