The relationship among contrast sensitivity, average luminance level and the illumination range in interiors is fundamental to good vision. It is affected by glare both from daylight and electric light, and it is due to a complex interaction of different parts of the retina. and especially, the illumination from diret sunlight is high, reaching about 100,000lx at noon in midsummer. The direction is always changing, and while the effect of direct sunlight on an interior is very significant. In order to derivate only the most siutable illumination, it is necessary to establish quantitatively the shield-conditions which involve internal sun controls incuding curtains, roller blinds and louvre blinds for modification of illumination excees. They protect against glare and direct radiation from the sun but often do not prevent rise of internal air temperatures. And for illumination-shortage in interiors, artifcial mechanisms should be considered for light-sources, illumunation method and reflectors as supplements for illumnation-shortage.
The results should that the optical mechanism on derivations of the standard (the most suitable) illumination in interiors depends on the function of windows, reflectance of the painting of wall, ceiling and flooring in interiors, selection of curtains and kinds of light-sources, and in this paper, a few methods to provide the most suitable illumination-environment of interiors are proposed.
