The purpose of the study was to investigate the association of disability acceptance, empowerment, and life satisfaction, and analyze the mediating effect of empowerment in the relationship between disability acceptance and life satisfaction among mothers of children with a disability. The non-random and a purposive sampling method was used and 204 mothers of children with a disability who reside in D city participated in the study. Data were analyzed by using the SPSS 22.0 and Macro Process (Model 4) for the correlation, multiple regression and the mediating effect of empowerment. The results of study showed that there were statistically significant, positive relationships among disability acceptance, empowerment, and life satisfaction in mothers of disabled children. In addition, empowerment was partially mediated in the relationship between disability acceptance and life satisfaction and the mediating effect was statistically significant. Based on these findings, possible implications for improving life satisfaction among mothers of disabled children regarding disability acceptance and empowerment, and recommendations for further study were provided.
