장애아동 어머니의 장애수용과 임파워먼트, 삶의 만족도의 관계 = Correlates of Disability Acceptance, Empowerment, and Life Satisfaction Among Mothers of Children with a Disability

The purpose of the study was to investigate the association of disability acceptance, empowerment, and life satisfaction, and analyze the mediating effect of empowerment in the relationship between disability acceptance and life satisfaction among mothers of children with a disability. The non-random and a purposive sampling method was used and 204 mothers of children with a disability who reside in D city participated in the study. Data were analyzed by using the SPSS 22.0 and Macro Process (Model 4) for the correlation, multiple regression and the mediating effect of empowerment. The results of study showed that there were statistically significant, positive relationships among disability acceptance, empowerment, and life satisfaction in mothers of disabled children. In addition, empowerment was partially mediated in the relationship between disability acceptance and life satisfaction and the mediating effect was statistically significant. Based on these findings, possible implications for improving life satisfaction among mothers of disabled children regarding disability acceptance and empowerment, and recommendations for further study were provided.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장애아동 어머니의 장애수용과 임파워먼트, 삶의 만족도와의 관계를 파악하고, 장애수용과 삶의 만족도와의 관계에서 임파워먼트의 매개효과를 분석하기 위해, D시에 거주하는 장애아동 어머니 204명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0과 Macro Process 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계분석, 다중회귀분석, Bootstrapping을 적용한 매개효과 검증을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 장애아동 어머니의 장애수용과 임파워먼트, 삶의 만족도는 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 또한, 임파워먼트는 어머니의 장애수용과 삶의 만족도와의 관계에 통계적으로 유의한 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 근거로 장애아동 어머니의 삶의 만족도 증진을 위한 방안으로 장애수용과 임파워먼트의 활용에 관한 논의와 추후 연구에 관한 함의를 제시하였다.
