청소년의 학대경험과 자살성에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

자살은 전 세계적인 관심사로 조기 예방이 강조된다. 자살예방이 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 서구의 경우, 자살로 인한 사망률감소와 같은 좁은 의미의 접근에서 확장되어 자살과 관련된 다양한 위험 양상에 초점을 두어 이를 감소시키려는 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 학대 경험은 청소년의 정신건강에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 자살과 밀접한 연관성을 보이는 것으로 알려져 있다. 다양한 학대 유형이 자살성 경험과 연관이 있는 것으로 나타났음에 불구하고 유형별로 단편적으로 연구되어, 통합적인 이해가 부족한 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 학대 경험이 청소년의 자살성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보아 예방적 접근에서의 유용한 함의를 이끌어내고자 하였다. 조사대상자는 서울지역에 위치한 중학생과 고등학생 2791명으로 자기보고식 설문지를 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자살성은 K-YSR 항목 중 지난 6개월간에 자살사고나 자살시도 중 하나라도 경험한 경우는 ‘1’값을 주고 그렇지 않은 경우는 ‘0’을 주어 더미변수화 하였다. 주요 관련요인으로는 성별, 학년, 주관적으로 인식한 경제적 지위, 자존감 등을 포함하였다. 학대 유형 요인은 가정에서의 학대경험(부모간 폭력, 부모로부터의 폭력)과 성학대 경험을 포함하였다. 전체 조사 대상자 중자살성 경험자는 29%로, 이 중 남자청소년의 경우 25.9&, 여자청소년의 경우는 33.4%로 나타났다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 여자청소년일 경우, 자존감이 낮을수록 자살성 경험을 할 확률이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 학대유형에서는 ‘아버지가 어머니에게 행하는 신체 폭력’과 ‘아버지가 청소년에게 행하는 신체폭력’은 청소년 자살성 경험을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니로부터의 정서적 폭력 경험이 있을 경우와 성학대 경험이 있을 경우에도 자살성 경험을 할 확률이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine the relationship between abuse experience and suicidality and whether the association differs by abuse types, 2731 middle and high school youths residing in Seoul participated in this study. Participants completed self report survey which included measures of suicidality(using two items of suicidal attempts from K-YSR), abuse types (emotional abuse, physical violence from parents, sexual abuse) and other related variables (gender, glade, perceived economic status, self-esteem).
Nearly one-thirds of participants reported suicidality. Results of logistic regression analysis indicated that being female and low self-esteem increased the likelihood of suicidality. With relation to abuse types, father's physical violence toward mother, father's of physical violence toward adolescents, and mother's emotional abuse towards adolescents increased the likelihood of suicidality. Sexual abuse experience increased the likelihood of suicidality.
Discussions and implications were addressed based on the findings.
