This study analyzes the impact of job characteristics and job crafting on the job engagement of airline cabin crew. The research was conducted using SPSS to perform in-depth analyses, including demographic characteristics, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis, to examine the effects of job characteristics on job crafting and job engagement among airline cabin crew. The study results indicate that job characteristics have a significant impact on relational crafting, cognitive crafting, and task crafting. Skill variety and autonomy significantly influence relational crafting, autonomy and task identity influence cognitive crafting, and autonomy has a strong impact on task crafting. Furthermore, job crafting positively affects job engagement, with relational crafting and task crafting being major contributing factors. Job characteristics also significantly influence job engagement, with skill variety, autonomy, and task identity being key factors. Consequently, airlines should enhance crew autonomy and foster a feedback culture to increase engagement. Additionally, supporting crew members in redesigning their jobs to boost engagement could enhance organizational performance. Future research should analyze the differences in job crafting perceptions between FSC and LCC and the effects of job crafting in remote environments. This study underscores the importance of job design and human resource management, advocating for strategic improvements in job design to maximize job satisfaction and performance. Such efforts are expected to contribute to the sustainable growth of airlines.
