언어권별 기본어휘 선정의 방법론적 비교 연구 -선정 자료, 기준, 방법을 중심으로- = A Methodological Comparative Study of Basic Word Selection across Languages -Focusing on Selection Materials, Criteria, and Method-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to explore ways to develop a Korean word list by comparing domestic and international cases on the issues to be considered when selecting words, by reflecting the characteristics of linguistic areas. To this end, the study analyzed issues such as the period of the corpus, the ratio of written and spoken corpus, the amount and representativeness of the word, scope of the word, method of word selection, lexical unit, and its presentation. The subjects of this study are 2021 Korean Basic Word Selection and Word Grading Study, GSL&NGSL, Français Fondamental, 漢語水平詞彙與漢字等級大綱, and日本語教育のための基本語彙調査. Throughout this analytical study, we revealed the differences in methods and contents of word selection between countries, as well as the linguistic characteristics that contribute to these differences. In conclusion, we suggested that it is necessary to continuously reexamine the use of Korean words, to build a corpus of more than 100 million words, to use both written and spoken corpus, to select words with higher text coverage than the current one in an eclectic way, to select word family as the lexical unit, to provide supplementary explanations for semantic information, and to provide specific selection procedures when developing Korean word lists.
