MICE산업 발전전략의 조건과 방향 = The development and fortune of MICE Industry

The study looked into the environmental issues that the convention industry has been facing such as un-established qualification certificate, market analysis based on number of holding international meetings, and additional value creating effects and so on from underestimated convention industry. To deal with these current issues, a collaborative system should be settled together with convention, exhibition, hotel, and tourism to revitalize the strategic paradigm of MICE industry. On the basis of the collaborative system, strategies to boost the MICE industry are suggested as followings. First, MICE industry to be classified as a service industry according to the standard industrial classification. Second, MICE industry to be included in the Star Project policy to grow the Brand Convention. After that, support policies as of tax break and financial sponsorship allocation to PCO`s and etc. should be revamped and extended to revitalize hosting international meetings. Finally enlarged financial support for convention industry of small and medium enterprise policies and relieve of business office tax from local tax laws should be applied.
