本論文은 忠南地方의 6個所, 大田 公州 論山 馬山 群山 洪城에 있어서의 降雨量과 繼續時間雨量과의 强度의 關係를 過法 25年?? 每年 最大 雨量 觀測値를 資料로 하여 繼續時間最大降雨强度rT를 日本 物部(Monobe) 塼十의 公式으로 求하여 이를 다시 繼續時間別로 平均하여 最小自乘法에 依하여 日雨量과 繼續時間과의 强度의 此인 c=b/(a+t)의 關係式에서 a, b를 計算하여 忠南에 있어서의 强雨强度式을 推定하고자 한다. 또 確率理論에 의한 銃計的處理法으로서 求하여 從來 河川計劃이나 排水路에 있어서의 ??住의 最大日雨量을 採擇한 非合理性은 除法하는데 目的이 있다.

In this paper, I present the ratio of "C" which is the ratio of intensity between daily rainfall and arbitrary duration rainfall in six districts; Taejon, Gongju, Nonsan, Hongsan, Geumsan and Hongseong in Chung-nam district, and determine probable daily rainfall by the method of statistical treatment by theory of probability, and then climinate previous improper maximum daily rainfall in river plan "C" formula in chung-nam district is c=b/(a+t) in which, t=duration of rainfall, a and b=constant. These types of formula and constant are determined by choosing the value of the maximum daily rainfall of every year as a data in the meteorological stations of six districts mentioned above, and applying the Mononobe's formula to it. According to the records of fundamental materials for twenty-five years, if the values of calculating the probab'c daily rainfalls are indicated in percentages to the values of previous maximum daily rainfall, they are as follows:the value of ten years is 75%;twenty years 87%;fifty years 100%; one hundred years 110%; two hundred years 120-130%. For the most part, if the previous improper maximum daily rainfall is taken as the probable daily rainfall, it is applicable to the value of 30~60 years and the second rank is applicable to the value of 10~30 years.
