유명인의 공황장애 고백이 유명인에 대한 동일시, 위험지각, 건강행동 의도에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Celebrity’s Panic Disorder Disclosure on Identification, Risk Perception, and Health Behavioral Intention

국문 초록 (Abstract)

유명인의 공황장애 경험 고백은 일반 공중의 정신건강에 대한 관심과 행동결정에 큰 영향을 미치기 때문에 이에 대한 학문적, 실무적 논의가 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구는 유명인의 특성에 따라 수직적 또는 수평적 동일시가 발생한다고 보고, 동일시 유형에 따른 공황장애에 대한 지각된 취약성과 지각된 심각성이 건강행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 2019년 5월 27일부터 30일에 걸쳐 20-30대 남녀 464명을 대상으로 서베이형 실험을 실시했다. 실험은 2(유명인 특성 : 우월성 높음 vs. 우월성 낮음) × 2(유명인 유사성 높음 vs. 낮음) 형태의 피험자 간 요인 설계로 구성되었다. 연구 결과, 유명인의 신뢰성, 전문성과 같은 우월함이 강조된 경우 수직적 동일시가 발생했다. 수평적 동일시는 지각된 취약성에 영향을 미쳤다. 지각된 취약성은 예방적 건강 행동에 부정적 영향을 미치고, 지각된 심각성은 병 역할 행동 의도에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 동일시 유형의 세분화를 통해 동일시 유형에 따른 위험 지각 및 행동의도의 변화를 심층적으로 설명했다는 점에서 학술적 의의를 지닌다. 또한 공공건강 커뮤니케이션 캠페인에 활용될 수 있는 메시지 전략을 제공한다는 점에서 실무적 의의를 지닌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Celebrities’ public disclosure regarding their panic disorder has a great influence on the public’s risk perception and health behaviors. The present study aims at investigating the effect of horizontal and vertical identification on the perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, preventive health behavior, and sick role health behavior. An experimental survey was conducted with 464 adults aged 20 to 30 from May 27th to 30th, 2019. 2 (celebrity’s credibility: high vs. low) × 2 (celebrity’s similarity: high vs. low) between subject factorial design was conducted. The results found that participants exposed to the message with high celebrity’s credibility showed high vertical identification with the celebrity. Horizontal identification was found to increase perceived susceptibility to the panic disorder. Perceived susceptibility had a negative effect on the preventive health behavior. Perceived severity had a positive effect on the sick role health behavior. The study elaborated the concept of identification and examined its distinctive effect on the risk perception. This study suggested the effective communication message strategies for public health communication campaigners.
