Process of Secrtion.--"The greater number of the fluids, which constitute the basis of the different secretions--such as the gastric and intestinal juices, the saliva, tears, milk, mucus, wax of the ears, fat, &c.--proceed from a gradual dissolution of the substance of the very glands which are generally supposed to eliminate them. The blood, no doubt, furnishes certain elements for each secreted fluid; but that which constitutes the characteristic constituent of each secretion, is the fluid contained in the microscopic cells, which enter into the formation of every gland:
