It is very important to have a sufficient straight running length of the upstream and the downstream of flow meter to calibrate a flow meter. We have performed an analytic analysis by a computer simulation to find an stabilized flow velocity in the test section of the flow meter. It was necessary to have a sufficient straight length of the test section pipe to converge on an velocity. And it was found that the stable flow velocity was maintained in 20 times ID to 40 times ID of straight running length in the test section.
