      There are four different educational institutions for nurses in Korea; department of nurse affiliated to university or college, professional nursing school, school of nurse, and vocational high school for nurse. The problems in nurseing institutions very greatly in detail, however, fundamentally they are problems in educational program and system In the light of recent scientific achievement.
      By its very nature, this study is a critical anaiysis of the problems under consideration. In order to analyze the problems, the following guidelines have been formulated:
      A. What are the major problems in educational programs, particularly in the field of curriculum.
      B. What are the major problems in educational system,
      C. What courses of action will provide significant promise for improvement in nurse education.
      There are numerous indications that traditional patterns in the various nurse institutions, which have so seriousely hindered progress, are losing the dominating influence in the light of recent scientfic achievement.
      Findings of this study emphasize the need to strees the following considerations to nurse education;
      A. The proper relating general education to humanitarian attitude and scientific skill in nursing practice,
      B. The selection of student, in the various educational institutions for nurse education, possessing requisite qualifications for success, both training for, and practice of nursing prefession,
      C. Development of efficient methods which will result not only in importing knowledge effectively, but in developing appropriate mental habits and attitudes for welfare of the people.
      The remarkable increase in enrolment in nurse educational institutions during recent year has attracted the attention to critics for nures education. In too many instances the curriculum and educational system have fallen far short requirments of modern needs. Slowly, the situation is improving, and the new curriculum and system bring about a much more effective progress in nurse education.
