1) Na+, k+ and Cl- concentrations were determined in 99 cases of maternal blood, cord blood and amniotic fluid of normal full-term parturients. 2) No significant difference of Na+ conentration was noticed bstween the maternal blood(134± 3.2mEq/L) and the cord blood (136±3.3mEq/L). K+ concentration was lower in the materence of Cl- was noticed between the marternal (103±3.5mEq/L) and the cord blood (106±3.3mEq/L) 3) Na+ concentration of the amniotic fluid (127±4.8mEq/L) was the lowest than those of the maternal blood and the cord blood. K+ concentration of aminotic fluid (4.5±mEq/L) was higher than that of the maternal blood and lower than that of the cord blood.
