여성 과학자의 성장 서사와 김정은 시대 북한 문학의 과학기술 담론 고찰 ― 김해룡 단편 ｢산삼열매｣(2024)를 중심으로 = A Study on the Growth Narrative and Science and Technology of Female Scientist in North Korean Novels during the Kim Jong-un Era ― Focusing on Kim Hae-ryong's short story “The Wild Ginseng Fruit” (2024)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 김해룡의 단편소설 ｢산삼열매｣(2024)를 분석하여, 김정은 시대 북한 소설에 나타난 여성 과학자의 성장 서사와 그 사회적ㆍ역사적 의미를 고찰한다. 이 작품은선구적인 여성 과학자인 리순화의 생애를 딸 현애의 시선을 통해 연대기적으로 재구성한 액자소설이다. 과학자의 생애 속에 ‘산삼’이라는 자연물 상징과 ‘자작나무 회초리’라는 규율 이미지를 통해, 북한 특유의 ‘영웅 과학자’의 주체적 인간형 성장을 형상화한다. 이 글은 첫째, 순화의 이중적 자아와 액자소설 서사, 고백적 일기체 분석을통해 소설의 심미적 완성도를 살핀다. 둘째, 여성 과학자의 영웅적 성장 서사를 통한북한의 과학기술 정책 이념과 담론이 지닌 사회ㆍ역사적 의미를 규명한다. 셋째, 김정은 시대 문학사에서 이 작품이 지닌 의미를 평가하고, 과학 영웅 서사의 젠더 정치학을 비판적으로 검토한다. 분석 결과, ｢산삼열매｣는 개인의 성장과 국가의 과학기술 발전을 유기적으로 결합한 전형적인 주체문학 성장 서사의 변형이자, 주체형 인물 형상의 여성화라는 젠더적 이념형을 새롭게 수행한 문제적 텍스트임을 밝혔다.

This article analyzes Kim Hae-ryong's short story “The Wild Ginseng Fruit” (2024), and examines the growth narrative of a female scientists in North Korean novels during the Kim Jong-un era and their historical and social implications. This work has a framed novel plot that chronically reconstructs the life of mother Lee Soon-hwa, a pioneering female scientist, through the eyes of her daughter Hyun-ae. Through the natural symbol of ‘wild ginseng’ and the image of discipline of the ‘birch switch,’ the formation of the subject of North Korea's unique a heroic scientist is embodied in the scientist's life. First, this article examines the aesthetic completeness of the novel through deep research on the dual ego of Soon-hwa, the framed novel narrative, and the introspective diary‑like style. Second, it investigates the historical and social meaning of North Korea's science and technology policy ideology and discourse through the growth narrative of a heroic scientist. Third, it evaluates the literary and historical position of this work and reviews the gender politics of the scientist hero narrative. As a result of the analysis, “The Wild Ginseng Fruit” is a transformation of the Juche literary growth narrative that organically combines individual growth and the nation's scientific and technological development, and at the same time, a new problem-raising text for the gender ideology of the Juche-type character's femininity.
