우리나라 환율, 농산물 생산자 물가지수, 수입 물가지수 그리고 농산물 소비자 물가지수 간의 인과관계 분석 = The Causal Relationship among Exchange rate, Agricultural Producer Price Index, Agricultural Consumer Price Index, Agricultural Import Price Index in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리나라의 환율, 농산물 소비자 물가지수, 생산자 물가지수, 그리고 수입 물가지수 간의 인과관계 분석을 2011년 1월부터 2024년 11월까지의 월별자료를 활용하여 진행하였다. Granger 인과관계 기법을 통해 환율은 농산물 소비자 물가지수, 생산자 물가지수, 수입 물가지수에 영향을 미치고, 농산물 소비자 물가지수와 생산자 물가지수는 양방향 인과관계가 있는 것을 발견하였다. Geweke(1982)의 방법론을 활용하여 변수들 간의 인과성을 분해한 결과 농산물 생산자 물가지수가 소비자 물가지수에 미치는 영향이 반대의 영향보다 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이 부분은 충격반응 및 분산분해 분석의 결과에 의해서도 지지된다. 또한, 환율이 농산물 소비자 물가지수에 미치는 직접적인 영향보다는 생산자 물가지수의 변화를 통해 소비자 물가지수에 미치는 간접적인 영향이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 환율에 따른 우리나라 농산물 물가를 안정적으로 관리하기 위해서는 농가의 생산자 물가를 안정적으로 유지하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 시사한다.

This study investigates the causal relationship between exchange rate, agricultural producer price index, agricultural consumer price index, and agricultural import price index in Korea utilizing from January 2011 to November 2024. Based on the Granger causality test method, this study finds the causal effect of the exchange rate on all other price indices, and the bidirectional causality relationship between agricultural producers and the consumer price index. The results of Geweke(1982) show that the explanation of the causal effect from producer price to consumer price is higher than the opposite. This result is supported by impulse response and variance decomposition methods. We also find that the explanation size of the exchange rate on agricultural consumer price is higher in the path of agricultural producer price than in the direct effect. These results imply that stable agricultural producer prices are important for controlling agricultural consumer prices.
