해킹의 과학적 실재론을 옹호함 Ⅱ = To Speak in Defense of Hacking`s Scientific Realism (Ⅱ)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

해킹은 과학적 실재론에 대한 '최선의 설명으로의 추리'에 기초를 두고 있는 전통적 논중에 반대하고, 약간의 이론적 대상들에 대한 실험에서의 조작가능성에 근거하여 대상 실재론을 정당화한다. 그렇지만 레이너와 피어슨은 해킹의 정당화도 역시 '최선의 설명으로의 추리'에 의존하지 않을 수 없다고 비판한다. 필자는 해킹의 대상 실재론에 대한 정당화와 그들의 비판을 자세히 검토한 다음 해킹의 정당화는 '최선의 설명으로의 추리'에 의존하지 않는다는 것을 밝힐 것이다.

I. Hacking raised an objection to the traditional argument for scientific realism based on Inference to the Best Explanation. And he has justified, based on Experimental Manipulability of a good many theoretical entities, scientific realism about entities. R. Reiner and R. Pierson, however, have objected that Hacking also cannot help depending on the idea of Inference to the Best Explanation for his justification of scientific realism about entities. 1 lay out Hacking's argument for Entity Realism and critically examine their objection to Hacking's justification of Entity Realism; and I show that Hacking's justification need not depend on IBE. 1 conclude that Hacking correctly, avoiding reliance on Inference to the Best Explanation, justified scientific realism about entities.
