In this paper, an actuator for mobile optical storage devices is newly proposed. Some issues related with space limit 5mm are discussed and resolved. FPCB is adapted in order not only to connect between focusing/tracking colis and power signal electrically but also to embody the stiffness of the lens holder. The asymmetry of the stiffness of suspension wires are attacked by the usage of different wire diameters for the upper and lower suspension wires. With his adoption, unwanted rolling modes are disappeared which are present before this stiffness compensation. The RF eye-pattern and its jitter analysis showed that the proposed mobile disk system can be suitably adapted in the future mobile storage device market.
