게임 공간의 자연환경에 대한 사용자 경험 연구 = A Study on the User Experience of the Natural Environment of the Game Space

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 게임 공간의 자연환경에 대한 사용자 경험을 유형화하였다. 분석 결과, 사용자는 감성 중시형, 서사 중시형, 탐험 중시형, 상호작용 중시형으로 분류되었다. 감성 중시형 사용자는 자연환경의 시각적 및 감정적 측면에 높은 가치를 두었고, 서사 중시형 사용자는 자연환경이 게임의 스토리텔링과 깊이 있게 연결되기를 원했다. 탐험 중시형 사용자는 자연환경의 탐험 가능성을 즐겼으며, 상호작용 중시형 사용자는 자연환경을 통한 사회적 상호작용을 중시했다. 이러한 결과는 자연환경이 단순한 배경을 넘어 사용자의 몰입도와 게임 경험을 풍부하게 만드는 중요한 요소임을 확인해 준다. 각 유형에 따라 자연환경이 스토리텔링, 정서적 반응, 탐험의 동기, 그리고 사회적 상호작용에 기여하는 방식이 다르기 때문에, 게임 디자인에 이러한 요소들을 통합하는 것이 필요하다. 이를 통해 사용자 맞춤형 게임 경험을 제공함으로써 다양한 게임의 개발로 이어질 수 있을 것이다. 향후 연구는 다양한 게임 장르에서 자연환경의 사용자 경험을 분석함으로써 게임 제작을 위한 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

This study classifies user experiences with natural environments in gaming spaces. According to the findings, users are categorized into four types: Emotion-focused, Narrative-focused, Explorationfocused, and Interaction-focused. Emotion-focused users place high value on the visual and emotional aspects of natural environments, while Narrative-focused users desire a deep connection between the natural environment and the game’s storytelling. Exploration-focused users enjoy the potential for exploration within these natural settings, and Interaction-focused users prioritize social interactions facilitated by the natural environment. These findings confirm that natural environments transcend mere backdrops, significantly enriching user engagement and overall gaming experience. As each type contributes differently to storytelling, emotional responses, exploration motivation, and social interaction, integrating these elements into game design is crucial. By doing so, tailored gaming experiences can be provided, enhancing user satisfaction and leading to the development of a diverse range of games. Future research is expected to provide materials for game production by analyzing user experiences with natural environments across different game genres.
