디지털인문학 연구를 위한 언어자료 구축의 개선 방안과 확장 범위

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 최근 주요 연구 트렌드로 자리잡고 있는 디지털인문학을 조망하였다. 그리고 디지털인문학의 발전에 국어학이 어떠한 기여를 할 수 있는지 살펴보았다. 먼저 이 글에서는 디지털인문학에서 언어자료를 어떻게 활용하고 있는지 검토하 였다. 디지털역사학과 디지털한국문학으로 나누고, 언어자료의 활용 방안과 주요 연구 성과에 대해 논의하였다. 그리고 이러한 연구 성과가 학계에 어떠한 기여를 할 수 있는지 언급하였다. 다음으로 디지털인문학에서 언어자료를 어떻게 확충할 수 있는지에 대해 논의하였다. 한림과학원의 성과를 제시하고, 해방 이후의 언어 자료 구축의 필요성을 주장하였다. 이 시기의 자료란 1945년 이후 1970년대 까 지의 자료를 말하는 것으로, 잘 구축된 자료가 학계에 공급되면 역사학 연구뿐만 아니라 문학 연구, 국어학 연구(특히 어휘사 연구)에 기여할 것으로 판단된다. 또 한 언어자료 구축에 있어서 명사와 고유명사 태깅을 보다 세밀하게 할 것을 제안 하였다. 명사와 고유명사에 대한 세밀한 추적은 그 당대 사회상을 엿보는 것에 기 여하기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper explores the field of digital humanities, which has recently emerged as a major research trend, and examines the potential contributions of Korean linguistics to its development. First, the study reviews the utilization of language data in digital humanities. It categorizes the field into digital history and digital Korean literature, discussing methods of language data application and key research achievements. The paper also highlights how these achievements can contribute to academic progress. Next, it addresses strategies for expanding language data in digital humanities. It introduces the accomplishments of the Hallym Academy of Sciences and emphasizes the necessity of building language data from the post-liberation period. Specifically, this refers to data spanning from 1945 to the 1970s. Properly developed resources from this era are expected to advance not only historical research but also literary studies and linguistic studies, particularly in lexical history. Furthermore, the paper proposes more detailed tagging of nouns and proper nouns in language data development. Such meticulous tracking of nouns and proper nouns is crucial for gaining insights into the social conditions of the time.
