Water quality management is not positively performed due to overlapping investment and confusion between government treatment policies of livestock waste water. Many difficulties found are also due to insufficient awareness about the importance of the treatment of livestock waste water and the absence of technologies. The problems in relation to livestock waste water in livestock farms are as follows:
production (source) of livestock's night soil, severe water pollution, consumption of manure, and so on. Therefore, the problems must appropriately be diagnosed and the improvement methodologies must be devised by collecting and analysing data from the sites.
The results (considering the regional characteristics) are as follows: The waste water quantity of dairy cattle and beef cattle farms is high, but swine farms have many problems. The flow rate of waste water differ depending on the cattle, since the treatment facilities are standardized according to raising extent, not waste water quantity. Accordingly, laws in relation to waste water treatment need to be modified in order for voluntary participation of farmers by various compensations and efficient carrying to public treatment facilities. The supplementation of facilities and the change to advanced treatment systems are done by precise diagnosis of present public treatment facilities, and the development of treatment methodologies suitable for farms is also needed.
