Teenagers are likely to be sensitively affected and crucially influenced by popular music. Popular Music has made a great progress in keeping with its demand from the teenagers as much as required for Sensational music.
However Most popular music tends to lean on commercial and trendy factors, good explanations have to come along with teaching method for the better application to education.
Curriculums have to clearly indicate the purpose and contents of teaching in accordance with Korea National Education Law, whereas textbooks are important references that can lead students to prosperous knowledge and to musical activity in terms of educational process.
I focus on definition/ characteristics/ sorts of popular music, the relationship between teenagers and popular music, pros and cons for schooling popular music education, the number of popular music that are gathered in the high school text books based on the 8th Curriculum Amendment.
Student wants to learn popular music in class, to increase the number of popular music in music textbook. Finally, a teaching-learning plan is presented to bring more interest of student in music class, to develop various and wide musicality, and to narrow the distance between teachers and students.
