상담학 질적 연구 동향분석(2012년∼2017년): 상담 관련 국내 학술지 및 Journal of Counseling Psychology 게재논문 비교중심으로 = Trend Analysis of Qualitative Research in Counseling(2012∼2017): Centered on the Comparison of Studies Published in Domestic Journals and Journal of Counseling Psychology Related to Counseling

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of qualitative research in domestic journals(Korean Journal of Counseling, The Korean Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy) and overseas journal(Journal of Counseling Psychology) in the field of counseling, to set the direction of current qualitative research, to study the future direction of qualitative research, and to provide implications for qualitative research. A total of 181 qualitative research papers(121 Korean Journal of Counseling, 33 The Korean Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy, 27 Journal of Counseling Psychology) published for the six years from 2012 to 2016 were analyzed in terms of participants, research methods, topics, qualitative research procedures, and validation method by year. The results of the study are summarized as follows. Looking at the yearly trends, qualitative research has been studied steadily. The participants were adults (32.6%), counselors (26.0%), clients (13.8%) and university students (8.3%). Most studies on adults have been conducted. The research methods were as follows: phenomenology (28.7%), grounded theory (27.1%) and consensual qualitative research (20.4%). The phenomenological study was the most studied. The topics were as follows: exploration of specific experiences(30.9%), exploration of counselors(26.0%), client experiences (17.7%), exploration of characteristic for specific participants(16.6%) and crisis and coping experiences (8.8%). Topic on exploration of specific experiences was performed most actively. The results of the analysis of qualitative research procedures and validation method showed that research focus, setting, role of the researcher and reporting findings were similar in Korean Journal of Counseling, The Korean Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Journal of Counseling Psychology. Based on the results of this study, the study suggested the future growth, process of changes and the future direction of qualitative research in counseling by comparing with domestic-overseas journals and previous studies, and suggestions for subsequent research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 상담학 분야의 국내 학술지(상담학연구, 상담 및 심리치료), 국외 학술지(Journal of Counseling Psychology)의 질적 연구의 동향을 분석하여, 현재 질적 연구의 위치와 향후 질적 연구의 연구방향을 설정하고 질적 연구의 시사점을 제공하는 데 있다. 2012년부터 2016년까지 6년간 게재된 질적 연구 논문 총 181편(상담학연구 121편, 상담 및 심리치료 33편, Journal of Counseling Psychology 27편)을 연도별로 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구주제, 질적 연구 수행과정 및 타당성 검증에 대해 분석하였다. 그 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 연도별 흐름을 살펴보면 질적 연구는 꾸준히 연구되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구대상을 살펴보면 성인(32.6%), 상담자(26.0%), 내담자(13.8%), 대학생(8.3%) 순으로 성인을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 연구방법을 살펴보면 현상학(28.7%), 근거이론(27.1%), 합의적 질적 연구(20.4%) 순으로 현상학 연구가 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 연구주제는 특정 경험 탐색(30.9%), 상담자 탐색(26.0%), 내담자 경험(17.7%), 특정 대상 특성 탐색(16.6%), 위기 및 극복 경험(8.8%) 순으로 특정 경험 탐색을 주제로 한 연구가 가장 활발히 수행되는 것으로 나타났다. 질적 연구 수행과정 및 타당성 검증 분석결과를 살펴보면 연구초점, 연구환경, 연구자 역할, 연구결과 제시가 상담학연구, 상담 및 심리치료, Journal of Counseling Psychology에서 유사한 결과를 나타내었다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 국내, 국외 학술지 및 선행 연구와 비교분석하여 상담학에서의 질적 연구의 성장 및 변화과정과 앞으로 나아가야할 방향을 제시하고 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 하였다.
