자바와 발리의 전통문화와 여성 = Traaditional cultural in Java and Bali and Women - Two coexisting female perspectives and the formation of traditional culture -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

자바와 발리는 각 지역마다의 무수한 상이성에도 불구하고 전통적으로 여성들의 지위가 높았던 곳으로 평가받고 있다. 기존의 많은 연구들은 그 원인을 주로 자연적인 조건의 풍부함에서 찾는데, 이는 타당성을 가진 것으로 생각된다. 하지만 이러한 환경-우위론적인 해석은 동시에 자바와 발리, 보다 넓게는 동남아 여성들의 상대적 지위를 설명하는 데 있어 다른 변수들을 간과하는 문제점을 지닌다. 이런 점에서 이 글은 자바와 발리의 전통문화의 형성과정과 그 특성을 고찰해본 후, 그러한 변수들이 그곳 여성들의 지위와 여성관에 어떤 방식으로 영향을 끼쳤는지를 살펴보고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In spite of a great number of differences, Java and Bali are regarded as the place where women have achieved a high status. The valid reason is that they have natural conditions and women's high status is considered reasonable in their country, according to related preceding researches. This superior environmental explanation, however, neglects other factors in analyzing a comparative status of the women who lives in not only Java and Bali but Southeast Asia. So, this study makes a general study of Java and Bali's cultural formation process and its characteristics and then, researches how their cultural formation and characteristics affects on the view of womanhood and women's status.
