      This dissertation focuses on basic theoretical background of leadership and with this background, focusing on qualities needed from an officer focusing on leadership progress from training methodology. On the basis of this research, my purpose is to increase leadership progress by analyzing training methodology of the Academic Cadet Course.
      The basis of research for this dissertation is theoretically from the qualities and principles of first stage officers. On this basis, I will explain the training concept and methods of leadership progress during leadership training. On the basis of the Academic Cadet Course of the 3rd Military Academy, whose training focuses on leadership progress, I will analyze and explain that the present tactics problems, and progress focus on training tactics, training goals, and training elements.
      According to the data, despite the poor conditions of officer training, because of the research, successful training methods can be created by providing real commanding officer situations similar to the field for first stage officers. Only, in order for leadership progressive education for Academic Cadets, we must increase training time and provide training and leadership education opposed to military tactic education. Also, present goals and main points are realistic, but they must change according to the changes in the times and in the field.
      This dissertation has the problem that it cannot be applied to other courses and developments other than Academic Cadets in 3rd Military Academy. Later research projects will focus on Academic Cadet Courses not only in the 3rd Military Academy, but in other training institutions as well and the research will be done by survey.
