The purpose of this study was to predict the prognosis of Class Ⅱ malocclusion treatment and to examine which factors were related to the relapse. Seventy eight treated cases were devided into two groups by stability of treatment results.
Various measurements in pre-treatment and post-treatment lateral cephalograms were evaluated and compared between stable and relapse group by t-test and correlation analysis.
1. There were only a few difference in the skeletodental relationship in pre-treatment phase between stable and relapse group.
2. The mandibles in stable group was repositioned more anteriorly than those in relapse group.
3. Mandibular incisor was more uprighted to the basal bone and maxillary incisor was less lingualized in stable group than in relapse group.
4. Occlusal plane was inclined to the forward and downward in relapse group.
