The court, which is a national institution, plays a role in resolving conflicts among people by making fair judgments based on the law and maintaining social order by punishing people who violate the law. Because the judiciary is mainly based on the law, the image of the court is hard and authoritative for the people.
In order to improve such image, Chief Justice Yong Hoon Lee declared that he will run a new regeneration as a court serving the people after his inauguration in 2006. Therefore, the court has set a new indicator of "the court of the people, the court with the people" and has endeavored constantly to achieve it. Even in difficult circumstances, the court-centered trial operation was strengthened, civil service improved, and communication with the public was achieved.
As the concept of court security is shifted to the direction of service provision, the court security administration responsible for the court security is required to satisfy all the tasks of maintaining the order and the services of the other kinds. It is expected that the job stress of the security management members will be increasing due to heavy workload. Nevertheless, there is no study on the job stress and organizational performance of court security officers who are responsible for court security. Therefore, this study will be an opportunity to grasp the type of job stress among related practitioners and to provide detailed research results on how job stress affects organizational performance.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of job stress on job satisfaction and organizational performance of court security officers who are responsible for security in the court, to examine the effect of motivation on job stress, job satisfaction and organizational performance, The focus of the study was to identify the differences in the variable factors according to demographic series.
The results of the study are as follows.
First, the job stress of the court security officer showed a significant negative (-) influence on job satisfaction, and job stress did not affect the organizational commitment.
Second, motivation plays a mediating role when job stress negatively (-) affects job satisfaction and positively (+) affects directly on organizational commitment.
Third, the difference between the series of job stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and motivation variables showed that the separate court security management team had the biggest difference from the other series in all of four variables.
