Objective : We aimed to investigate the effects of the mechanical stress in long bone growth and to study if the growth stage and sex affected from the mechanical stress
Method : We divided 76 elementary school studentst( male 38, female 38 ) into the experimental and control group. Also they divided into prepubertal stage group(<11yrs) and pubertal stage group(≥11yrs). The experimental group were applied the mechanical stress mechanotherapy during outpatient program ( 38 patients ). The control group were not applied the previous mentioned therapy. The effects of the mechanical stress was estimated by the difference of length of height after 3months later.
Results : The experimental group who were applied the mechanical stress showed that the increase of height of length after 3months later in all male students and prepubertal stage female students. Pubertal stage female students did not showed meaningful increase of height of length.
Conclusion : This results suggest that the mechanical stress in long bone growth may be clinically useful in the growth of height in the developmental children and pubertal stage adolescents except pubertal stage female group.
