한국 교회의 유아기성에 대한 분석과 처방 = An Analysis of the infantilism of Korean Church and it's solution -from the perspective of freudian psychanalysis and of the theology of Reformation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 한국 교회의 문제를 유아기성에서 찾는다. 한국 교회가 유아기적인 이유는 프로이트의 관점으로 설명될 수 있다. 그에 따르면, 신은 두려우면서도 매력적인 유아기의 아버지가 외부에 투사된 존재이다. 사람들은 그 신 앞에서 두려워하며 동시에 자신의 보호자의 역할을 맡기면서 의존한다. 그런 프로이트의 신이 바로 한국 교회의 하나님과 흡사하다.
한국 교회 역시 전능하고, 강하고, 두려운 하나님을 강조한다. 그 하나님에게 심판이나 처벌을 받지 않고, 그의 마음에 들려는 것이 한국 교회의 신앙의 동기이며 목표이다. 즉 불안이 신자들의 신앙의 동력이다. 그들은 불안하기 때문에 하나님을 떠나지 못하고, 하나님을 선포하고 대리하는 교회나 목사를 떠나지 못한다. 즉 자유가 없이 율법주의나 공로주의 신앙으로 빠져든다. 교회의 시선을 항상 의식하며, 자신 없이, 두려움으로, 또한 의무감으로 살아간다. 그런 식으로 그들은 자유인이나 주체가 아니라 교회의 종으로 예속되어 살아간다.
그런 한국 교회의 유아기성을 해결하기 위해서는 종교개혁 신학의 재발견과 수용이 필요하다. 특히 전능하신 하나님이 아니라 그리스도 안에서 낮아지신 하나님을 설교해야 하며, 그 그리스도를 믿음으로써 얻는 은혜의 구원론을 강화해야 한다. 그런 신학이 하나님에 대한 두려움에 사로잡힌 율법주의적 신자들을 해방시켜서 자유를 주고, 한 주체로서 자유롭게 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하는 존재가 되게 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In numerous instances Korean Church has a problem in its being, because of its theology and spirituality that cause deformation or mal-formation of church's being. So it is necessary to investigate the problem of being and to reestablish a theology that reforms Korean Church.
I think that the problem of Korean Church consists in the infantilism whose reason is well explained in the perspective of Freud. According to him, the god is an extrinsically projected being of both fearful and fascinating father of the infancy. Men are afraid of the god, at the same time depend on him in entrusting the role of their own protector.
Such god of Freud is very similar to the Korean Church' s God. Korean Church also emphasizes the almighty, strong and scary God. To avoid the judgement and punishment of such God, and to please him are motives of Korean Church's faith. In other word, the anxiety is the motive of the believers. They are too anxious to leave God and to the pastor who proclaims God and represents Him in the church. It means that there is neither freedom nor evangel. They are in plunged in the legalism and meritism. They live without confidence but with anxiety and obligation, in being always conscious of other' s eyes. In this case, they are neither personal subject nor free men but a kind of slave of the church.
Consequently many kinds of stupid and dumfounded things occur frequently in the Korean Church: Privatization of the church, hereditariness of the senior pastor position, diverse egocentric behaviors, secularism, conformism, autism, separatism, neglect of the responsibility to the community etc.
In order to solve such infantilism of Korean Church, it is necessary to rediscover and accept the theology of Reformation. Especially not almighty God but humble God who descended up to being a man in Christ must be preached.
And it is very important to emphasize the salvation of grace by faith. Because suth theology liberates the legalistic believers from the anxiety of God and lets them to become the subjects who love God and their neighbors voluntarily.
The existential theology in the Reformation is also important. It stands the believer directly in front of God, without intercession of the priests or of the church, and lets him realize the subject in relation with God.
