경계선 성격특성이 음주문제에 미치는 영향: 부정 긴급성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과 = The Impacts of borderline personality trait on alcohol problem: The mediating effects of negative urgency and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research examined the mediating effects of negative urgency and maladaptive emotion regulation strategy on the relationship between borderline personality trait and alcohol problem. A total of 718 Korean university students completed the following questionnaires: Personality Assessment Inventory-Borderline Features Scale (PAI-BOR), Negative Urgency(UPPS-P-NU), Maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, strategy(CERQ), drinking problem(AUDIT-K). The structural equation model were used to examine the mediating effects of negative urgency and maladaptive cognitive emotional regulation strategies on the relationship between borderline personality traits and drinking problems. The results are followings. First, there was significant relationship among borderline personality trait, negative urgency, maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy, alcohol problem. Second, borderline personality trait did not directly affect alcohol problem and negative urgency and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation mediated the influence of borderline personality trait on alcohol problem in the mediation model. Third, the explanatory value of the mediation effect of negative urgency was stronger than the mediation effect of maladaptive emotion regulation strategy on the relationship between borderline personality trait and alcohol problem. The results of this study are meaningful that we proposed an integrated model to explain drinking problems of people with borderline personality traits and suggested the importance of dealing with urgency and emotional regulation strategies in counseling and treatment of drinking problems. Finally, implications and limits of this study were discussed for further research suggestion.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 경계선 성격특성이 음주문제에 영향을 미치는 데 있어서 부정 긴급성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 수도권 소재 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 718명을 대상으로 설문지를 사용하여 부정 긴급성(UPPS-P의 NU), 경계선 성격특성(PAI-BOR), 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 전략(CERQ의 부적응적 인지적 정서조절 척도), 음주문제(AUDIT-K)를 측정하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 사용하여 경계선 성격특성과 음주문제의 관계에서 부정 긴급성과 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경계선 성격특성, 부정 긴급성, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략 및 음주문제 간에 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 경계선 성격특성은 음주문제에 직접적 영향을 미치지 않았고, 부정 긴급성과 부적응적 인지적 정조절전략의 매개를 통한 완전매개경로가 유의미하였다. 셋째, 경계선 성격이 부정 긴급성을 매개로 음주문제로 가는 경로가 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략을 매개로 음주문제로 가는 경로에 비해 유의미하게 설명양이 높았다. 본 연구의 결과는 경계선 성격특성의 음주문제를 설명할 수 있는 통합적인 모델을 제시했다는 의의를 가지며, 경계선 성격특성이 있는 사람들의 음주문제 상담 및 치료에 있어서 충동성과 정서조절전략을 다루는 것의 중요성을 시사한다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 이후 연구에 대한 제안점을 논의하였다.
