There is a big difference even within US curriculums depending whether it follows traditional curriculum or NCTM standards based. US traditional curriculum can be characterized as spiral, broad, standard algorithm based, requires a lot of practice and skills. NCTM Standard based curriculums can be characterized as spiral, broader, wants students to invent their own algorithm. Korean math curriculum is more traditional- linear, topic centered, standard algorithm based, and concept focused.
