꽃 그림의 개성적 표현 연구 : 연구자의 작품을 중심으로 = A study of individual ways to express images of flower:Focused on the researcher's works

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The intention of the researcher's study is to establish a world of her own artwork that features with thistle, in which she reflects her positive attitude.
To add depth to the world of the researcher's artworks, she has studied about two artists, Saimdang Shin and Georgia O’Keeffe who made paintings of flower. Also, she analyzed her eight artworks and studied of why she created them, how she made certain compositions for them, and ways of expressing them.
After studying of Saimdang Shin’s artworks, the researcher was impressed by her artistic taste beyond the flow of the times and learned a lesson to keep a great attitude to express life force through flower that is an ordinary subject matter found in daily life. She was bold when making a composition, and applied colors smoothly, so that she could express vitality of flower in her own way and be the one who completed the beauty of Korea through her work of art, which inspired the researcher to reflect in her own way.
The researcher concluded, after studying of Georgia O’Keeffe’s artworks, that she should be free in her painting like Georgia O'Keeffe was when making a composition and should keep originality because she found out that Georgia O'Keeffe had a new way of expressing flower, of which she took a close-up shot, reflecting her own emotion and vivid imagery.
The researcher learned from studying of those two artists, Saimdang Shin and Georgia O’Keeffe that they established their own world of art with their liberal mind and unique artistic perspective by expressing a friendly material, flower that can be found everywhere in daily life, building a new way of making expressive paintings, and sharing their great artistic taste and attitude with the viewers.
Below is what the researcher has organized in terms of her study and the subject matter of her artwork, thistle, in which she reflects the bright side of her emotion that she wants to share with the viewers.
First of all, to make a composition and divide space in my canvas, the researcher uses a lot of sketches while trying to pay attention to the variation of the negative space and making simple forms.
Second of all, when coloring, the researcher tries not to change the color of her subject matter while she applies pastel colors to the background of her painting, making layers to give a depth to the surface of the canvas and create a new atmosphere.
Third of all, the researcher pursues a liberal touch in her painting by mixing colors of the subject matter and those of the background, so that the rectangle of her painting doesn’t look dull and simple.
Fourthly, the researcher tries not to use dividing lines between her subject matter and the background of it, which is a fixed idea when making a painting.
Fifthly, the researcher needs to explore further about various art techniques and the usages of them to establish a profound world of her artworks.
Through her study, the researcher has realized that she needs to use various materials and techniques to convey what she feels in her daily life to her work of art more vividly.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 연구자 내면의 밝고 긍정적인 면을 엉겅퀴꽃에 투영하여 개성적인 회화세계를 이루고자 하는데 있다.
작품세계를 더욱 깊이 있고 풍부하게 하기 위하여, 꽃 그림을 그린 작가 중 신사임당과 조지아 오키프를 선정하여 연구하고, 연구자가 제작한 작품 여덟 점을 선정하여 작품 제작의 동기, 구도, 표현방법 및 제작과정 등을 분석한 것이 연구의 주된 내용이다.
신사임당의 꽃 그림을 연구한 결과, 일상생활의 주변에서 찾을 수 있는 평범한 소재로 생명력이 긴 표현을 이루어낸, 신사임당의 시대를 뛰어 넘는 예술적 안목과 발상에서 화가로서의 자세와 태도에 감명을 받았다. 연구자는 신사임당 특유의 독창적이고 대담한 구도와 정감어린 부드러운 색채의 표현으로 인하여 한국적인 멋이 은은하게 배어 나오는 생명력이, 신사임당 꽃 그림의 개성적인 표현이라고 생각하여 작품 제작에 연구자의 방식으로 반영하였다.
조지아 오키프의 꽃 그림을 연구한 결과, 기존의 꽃 그림에서 볼 수 없었던 접사시점과 같은 새롭게 시도한 확대된 표현으로, 자신만의 심상이 반영된 꽃이 가진 내면의 모습을 표현한 독특함 및 꽃의 소재 선택의 자유로움과 대담하고 독창적인 구도와 색채의 표현에서 나오는 참신함을 개성적인 표현이라고 추론하여, 작품에 대한 자유로운 자세와 참신한 구도가 연구자가 추구하여야 할 하나의 목표가 되어야 한다고 결론지었다.
연구자는 신사임당과 조지아 오키프의 꽃 그림을 연구하여, 자신만의 독창적인 회화세계를 구축하는 자유로운 발상과 예술관을 배울 수 있었으며, 일상생활의 주변에서 찾을 수 있는 꽃을 소재로 새로운 회화적 표현을 하여 대중과 소통하는 예술적 안목과 작가로서의 자세를 배울 수 있었다.
연구자 자신의 내면세계의 밝고 행복한 느낌을 전달하여 소통하고자 하는 주제를 가지고 엉겅퀴꽃을 소재로 제작한 작품들을 연구 분석하여 정리한 내용은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 화면을 구성하는 재료를 선택하여 구도를 배치함에 있어서, 많은 에스키스를 통해 공간을 분할하여 대상물의 위치를 정하고, 여백의 변화를 찾아 연구자만의 확대와 단순화된 형태로 구도를 잡아 배치한다.
둘째, 색채의 표현에서는 대상물은 본연의 색을 배제하지 않고, 배경색은 부드러운 느낌의 파스텔 톤을 사용하여, 연구자만의 느낌으로 중첩하여 채색하는 방식으로 색채의 깊이감을 더하고 새로운 화면 분위기를 창출한다.
셋째, 화면상의 배경색을 대상물에 넣고 대상물의 색을 배경색에 넣어 단조로움과 평범함에서 벗어나 대상과 배경의 소통이 자유로운 화면을 추구한다.
넷째, 배경과 대상물 형태의 경계선이 있어야한다는 고정관념에서 탈피하여 부드러운 느낌으로 표현한다.
다섯째, 작품세계를 보다 개성적이면서 깊고 풍부하게 하기 위해서는 다양한 재료와 여러 기법 면에서 연구를 더욱 깊이 해야 할 필요가 있다.
연구자는 본 연구를 통하여 추후의 작업에는 일상생활의 세세한 느낌들을 표현하기 위한 다양한 재료와 기법의 사용, 감정표현의 연구가 필요하다는 점을 깨닫게 되었다.
