This study investigated the counseling experience process of clients to confirm counseling outcomes, and investigated which personality strengths of the counselors influence and effectively act on counseling in the process. For this, a hermeneutic grounded theory method suitable for understanding human subjective experiences was selected, and 10 clients were interviewed.
As a result of analyzing the contents of the interview, 82 semantic units, 24 subcategories, and 9 hermeneutical themes were derived, and the central phenomenon was discovered through the process of recombining them and aligning and organizing the relationships between the connected categories. As a result of analyzing the participant's counseling experience process by linking the meanings between categories, the result of analyzing the counselor's therapeutic relationship, promotion of counseling relationship, self-opening, self-understanding, acceptance and stability, cognitive change, problem solving process, positive self-awareness, change and potential The stage of discovery was drawn. Next, as a result of continuously comparing and analyzing the collected data and confirming the relationship between the core categories and the categories through an analytic cycle, the core categories of counseling experiences perceived by the participants are self-understanding and self-understanding based on therapeutic relationships. It was the expansion of awareness and the discovery of potential through the process of acceptance and problem solving.
The most effective counselor's personality strength perceived by the participants was kindness (n=9), and sincerity (n=8), purposefulness (n=7), insight (n=5), passion, leadership, and devotion (n=4), humility, humor (n=3), openness, patience, love, fairness, hope (n=2), curiosity, forgiveness (n=1), in order of high frequency. As a result of examining the personality strengths of the counselors according to the counseling process, personality strengths such as kindness, sociality, and sincerity appeared mainly in the early stages, and in the middle period, the personality strengths of the counselors related to problem solving such as insight, purpose, leadership, and passion were remarkable. In the latter part, the counselor's humility, love, and hope appeared as personality strengths.
Personality strength is a factor that is naturally revealed in the counseling process, and it can be seen that the counselor's personality strength is used as a powerful tool for counseling in the counseling scene based on interaction, and as a result, has an effective effect on the counseling process and performance.
