      본 연구의 목적은 근골격 체력과 심혈관질환 위험요인과의 관련성을 분석하는데 있다. 이번 연구는 횡단적 설계로 40-75세 남성 686명을 대상으로 하였으며, 참여자들은 서울과 경기지역에서 모집하였다. 연구방법은 근골격 체력으로 순간근력과 등척성, 등속성 근력을 고려하여 구성하였다. 심폐체력은 운동부하검사를 통한 최대산소섭취량으로 측정하였다. 심혈관질환 위험요인은 수축기혈압, 중성지방, 총콜레스테롤, 고밀도지단백콜레스테롤, 혈중글루코스, 체지방률 등 7가지 항목을 표준점수화 하고 평균을 이용하여 산출하였다. 근골격 체력은 심혈관질환 위험요인에 음성적 관련성을 나타내었다. 승산비 검증결과 심혈관질환 위험요인은 백분위 4등급 중 1등급을 기준으로 체력수준이 증가될 때 0.88(95% confidence interval((CI)=0.61-0.91), 0.82(95%CI=0.50-0.94)과 0.76(95%CI=0.58-0.95)의 결과를 확인하였다. 결론적으로, 중년이후 남성들의 근골격 체력 감소는 심혈관질환 위험요인 상승에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다.

      The purpose of this study was to examine an association between musculoskeletal fitness and CVD(cardiovascular disease) risk. The cross-sectional sample consisted of 686 men aged 40 - 75 years. The participants were recruited from Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. We assessed musculoskeletal fitness by measuring explosive, isometric, and endurance strength. Cardiorespiratory fitness was measured directly as peak oxygen uptake during graded treadmill exercise test. CVD risk factors included in the composite risk factor score(mean of z-scores) were systolic blood pressure, triglyceride, total cholesterol(TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, glucose, percent of body fat. Musculoskeletal fitness is inversely associated with CVD risk. Moreover, the odd ratio for having CVD risk in the first fit quartile compared 0.88(95% confidence interval((CI)=0.61-0.91), 0.82(95%CI=0.50-0.94) and 0.76(95%CI=0.58-0.95). Our results show that musculoskeletal fitness is independently associated with CVD risk in men aged 40-75 years.
